ONE OF SIX PRINTED ON COLORED PAPER, ANNOTATED BY COLE. This copy supposedly belonged to James Wrangham. Prospectus tipped to f.f.e. Original pink printed boards. 3. The History and Antiquities of Filey in the County of York. Scarborough: John Cole 1828. 8vo. Printed on blue paper. 3 steel-engraved and 1 wood-engraved plate, text illustrations. Portrait laid in. Original muslin-backed boards (spine label chipped). Together, 3 volumes. Housed in modern clamshell case. Astonishingly charming series of works by the quintessential eccentric bibliophile bookseller: John Cole All Cole's books are rare but here in particular is one of only six copies on pink paper and annotated by Cole; as well as a fine sammelband belonging to his contemporary, Miss Currer.
