1914 ROLLS-ROYCE SILVER GHOST OPEN TOURING COACHWORK BELIEVED TO BE BY COCKSHOOT Chassis No. 27LB Engine No. 80A White with dark red leather upholstery Engine: six cylinder, 7,428cc, side valves, 48bhp at 1000rph; Gearbox: four speed manual; Brakes: two wheel drum; Suspension: front, semi-elliptic leaf springs; rear, cantilever. Right hand drive. This imposing motorcar was originally ordered by a Mr. L.H. Hardy of Nantwich, Cheshire. The barrel-sided styling and full weather equipment is meant to provide comfortable, rapid touring over long distances, as evidenced when 27LB covered over 3,000 miles through the United Kingdom during a five-week period in 1987. Demonstrating that it is capable of a respectable turn of speed as well as possessing legendary Rolls-Royce reliability, it was clocked in excess of 70 miles per hour during this long journey. Proper accessories carried on the car include engine and transmission pans, a complete set of spring gaiters, Klaxon running board-mounted horn, a full speedometer, a folding rear tonneau windscreen and a luggage rack and trunk with a tan cover which matches the top. The car was totally restored in 1987 and is ready for touring or show activities. Prior to Mr. Lutgert's ownership its most recent owner was internationally-known Silver Ghost collector Millard Newman of Tampa, Florida.
