Beschreibung:

The Birmingham Small Arms Company’s first motorcycles used proprietary engines such as the Belgian Minerva, and not until 1910 did the firm introduce a BSA designed and built machine. The first series-production model to feature the marque’s distinctive green and cream livery was a 499cc (3½hp) sidevalve single. Well engineered and equally well made, it proved an enormous success and for 1914 was joined by a 557cc (4¼hp) long-stroke version, built initially with single-speed belt drive transmission and later on, with a three-speed countershaft gearbox, as the Model K. Intended for sidecar duty, the Model H version incorporated a stronger frame and forks, the three-speed gearbox and fully enclosed all-chain drive. Bearing the Cornish registration ‘AF 2164’, this Model H comes with old-style logbook recording two previous owners (both in Cornwall). The machine was acquired by the vendor in 1974 and 20 years later sent to the world famous Sammy Miller Museum in Hampshire for restoration. Completed in 1994, it has not been used since and is presented in commensurately good condition. Finished in BSA green with black cycle parts, the machine is offered with the aforementioned old-style logbook, Swansea V5C and a photographic record of the restoration and associated correspondence (signed by Sammy Miller himself).
