1939 Citroën Traction 11B Cabriolet Titre de circulation anglais Châssis n° 147926 Caisse n° EC 23 85 Moteur n° AX 18928 - Séduisante version " Large " - Historique limpide - Très bel état de présentation D'abord présentée en mars 1934 sous forme de berline devant les principaux concessionnaires Citroën, la traction voit rapidement sa gamme s'étoffer avec deux autres versions, dénommées faux-cabriolet et roadster. Avec le temps, le second sera qualifié de "cabriolet" car il répond au confort de ce type de carrosserie plutôt qu'au caractère spartiate d'un vrai roadster. La version 11 B, qui bénéficie de la carrosserie large, est particulièrement attrayante car spacieuse et pouvant accueillir trois personnes à l'avant. L'exemplaire présenté fait partie de cette catégorie et fut vendu neuf en juillet 1939 à un architecte Danois. Son historique est limpide puisque la liste de tous ses précédents propriétaires, avec l'année d'achat figure au dossier. Son actuel propriétaire, passionné par le modèle, en fit l'acquisition en 2005, auprès d'un amateur qui avait passé de nombreuses années à le restaurer complètement. Elle a depuis été entièrement repeinte dans un élégant coloris bleu nuit avec ailes noires, associé à un intérieur de couleur rouge. La mécanique, provenant d'une 11B 1954, refaite précédemment, a été contrôlée et une rare tubulure EPAF à 2 carburateurs installée. L'installation électrique est passée en 12 volts et les clignotants obligatoires, ajoutés sous les ailes avant, sont rétractables, preuve du soin apporté à l'aspect d'origine. Un essai en compagnie du propriétaire a permis de constater son bon fonctionnement mécanique. Comptant parmi les plus désirables versions de la traction, cette authentique 11B cabriolet à l'historique limpide saura satisfaire les amateurs les plus exigeants. Over time, the second of these became known as a cabriolet as its levels of comfort were more in line with this type of body, than the spartan character of a true roadster. The 11B version, which benefitted from the wider body, was especially appealing as it was spacious enough for three people to fit in the front. The example presented here is an 11B, and was sold new in July 1939 to a Danish architect. It has a transparent history and a list of all previous owners with the year of their purchase, appears in the file. The current owner, passionate about the model, bought the car in 2005, from an enthusiast who had spent many years completely restoring the car. Since then, the car has been repainted an elegant midnight blue with black wings, and a red interior. The engine, coming from a 1954 11B was previously restored, was just inspected and a rare twin-carburettor EPAF system installed. The electrics were upgraded to 12 volts and the obligatory indicators, added under the front wing, are retractable, demonstrating the level of care taken to retain its original appearance. A test-drive with the owner allowed us to confirm how well the car runs. One of the most desirable versions of the Traction, this genuine 11B cabriolet, with transparent history, will satisfy the most demanding enthusiasts.
