Italian registration Chassis # 068515 Body 500-099276 - In beautiful condition - Delightful model - Convertible version This extremely popular model contributed considerably to the expansion of Fiat in Italy in the 1930s. The car's friendly appearance earned it the nickname "Topolino" (little mouse), and its low cost use and maintenance made the car very popular. Its design was quite original because its four-cylinder engine was placed far forward, freeing up space for the legs of the occupants while retaining a very compact exterior dimensions. The Topolino was one of the shortest cars ever to meet the constraints of urban traffic. Production of the Topolino continued after the war, eventually making room for the 500 C, which used the same base, but developed extensively. It was only with the advent of the "Nuova 500" that the Topolino saw the end of its product life cycle, after a 20 year production run, demonstrating the intelligence of the car's design . Registered for the first time in 1939, the 500 A on offer changed hands in May 1960, to be registered in Perugia. The car saw a change of ownership again in 1984 and another new owner in 2010. The car underwent a complete restoration frame up, and its condition is a testament to the thoroughness of the job, what with its green tint and black wings. Being a soft top version, it features an attractive sunroof, thereby illuminating the interior - in brown cloth - and which is in a good condition. The hood is in good state too and one will notice a wheel accessory. The engine compartment is very neat and the car still has its wooden gauge, which is immersed in the tank to measure the amount of fuel remaining. A 'friendly' model, this car makes passers-by smile, to the delight of its occupants.
