1944 Royal Enfield Registration no. 419XUS Chassis no. M9014 Engine no. G8084 & C9014 This machine is believed to be one of a batch of wartime examples manufactured around 1944 under a War Department contract. More than 29,000 of the military WD/C and WD/CO (overhead-valve) models were supplied to Allied forces. Offered from a deceased estate and believed to be an earlier restoration, little is known about this particular machine however, its HPI report suggests it was re-registered January 2008. Now MOT exempt, its MOT history records MOT passes for Aug 2007 (recording 1 mile), May 2009, May 2010 and May 2011. Currently finished in typical wartime trim, with blackout mask to the head lamp, the machine is fitted with canvas panniers typical of the period. Offered with an expired 2012 tax disc, it is hoped the machine will be offered with a V5C come the time of the sale. Unused for some time, the machine will require recommissioning to a greater or lesser extent. It should be noted, the engine is also stamped C9014 in addition to G8084 which is recorded to the HPI database.
