Italian registration Chassis # ST145 - Extremely rare car - Good quality - Typically refined small Italian sports from the 1950s - Produced by a leading Italian coachbuilder This convertible Siata Amica is one of the few products in the brand. According to the seller, it was delivered new to Siata boss, Mr. Ambrosini, before being restored in the 1990s by its last owner. Green with ivory interior, it is in good condition. Based on a perimeter tubular chassis, the car was developed by Siata ("Società Italiana Applicazioni Tecniche Auto Aviatorie" then, after the war, "Società Italiana Auto Trasformazioni Accessori") and had as powerpack the engine of the Fiat 500 Topolino reworked, developing almost 22bhp. The car's pretty body was designed by Count Revelli de Beaumont and was built by Bertone. This car offers a sporty character, as evidenced by the interior worthy of a true small GT with low seats, door panels with elegant chrome handles and two sub-dials placed on the painted steel dashboard. At the front of the hood, the badge of the brand mentions "Fiat Siata Derivata" and, according to the seller, this model was produced in just a short series of 14 units between 1948 and 1952. With the weight limited to just 580 kg, the car can reach a top speed of 100 km/h - a speed, which was way beyond the reach of the normal Fiat Topolino range. Some versions of the Amica has been changed for competition, participating in major Italian races like the Mille Miglia. This convertible is therefore a rare opportunity to acquire a small sports car, which the Italians knew how to produce with much skill and panache.
