1955 Brooklyn Dodgers Team Signed Baseball This is next year! The Dodgers had lost every one of their World Series tries in 1916, 1920, 1941, 1947, 1949, 1952, and 1953. There was even the defeat in the 1951 playoff to the New York Giants when Bobby Thomson's "shot heard 'round the world" broke hearts across Brooklyn. Their last 5 Series losses were all at the hands of the New York Yankees. Finally, in 1955, Brooklyn pulled off their first and only World Series victory, over their pinstriped nemesis, in an unforgettable 7 game nail-biter. This superb, slightly off-white ONL (Giles) ball from their greatest season features 22 bold signatures including Robinson, Campanella (MVP), Koufax, Hodges, Alston (ss), Kellert, Labine, Zimmer, Hoak, Podres, Erskine, Furillo, Newcombe, Shuba, Gilliam, Amoros, Hughes, Howell, Spooner, Roebuck, Walker and Loes. Reese and Snider are absent. Every signature remains consistently 7-8/10. Considering the enthusiasm and fanfare surrounding this band of heroes, it is remarkable that such an artifact could have been spared from handling by eager admirers. EX-MT condition overall. LOA from PSA/DNA.
