1955 Ford Fairlane Sunliner Convertible Chassis no. U5RC136797

Beschreibung:

Easily recognized by its bright swooping side-trim the Fairlane Sunliner convertible was another big hit for Ford in 1955. Completely re-skinned and fitted with more powerful engines, the convertible Sunliner caught the spirit of the age and 49,966 were sold, many in bright colors. It’s said that the wife of one of the designers was a hug fan of Fiesta Ware, which accounts for the “Easter Egg’ palette. This car is finished in a smart Snowshoe White-over Neptune Green with a very nice vinyl interior to match. The newer power top will likely stretch smoothly, once the car is parked in hot weather - it will likely be driven with the top down. This convertible has been in the Lewis collection since 2003, coming from Memory Lane Motors and before that recorded as belonging to George Passadore of Portland in 1999. The body is straight, and the paint good. The panel fit is acceptable, and the chrome bumpers, grill and trim are in good condition. This car is powered by the 160-horsepwer, 272 cubic-inch V8, with 3-speed and overdrive transmission, but lacks power steering or brakes, which simplifies maintenance and suggests it cost the base price of $2,324 when new. Overall, the car is clean and straight, with the exception of the engine compartment, which could stand detailing. The odometer indicates 02,700 miles, which is most likely the distance driven since the restoration. Without reserve
