Lieu d'exposition : Espiet Unregistered Chassis no. D7KW148171 No reserve - Well preserved condition - Rare, sought-after model - A symbol of the American way of life - Truly a car to drive for pleasure - Formerly in the Heuliez collection André Lurton acquired this impressive Ford Skyliner in 2012, at the Artcurial Motorcars auction at Le Mans Classic, which was partly given over to the sale of the Heuliez collection. The auction catalogue relates the history of this exceptional car: "Sold new by Stroman in Monte-Vista, Colorado, the example offered was bought and imported 15 years ago by the Heuliez company to study the engineering used to operate and stow the hardtop. It is presented in nicely unrestored condition. The black and grey imitation leather interior is in good original condition, and the odometer reads 68,594 miles. It is fitted with a V8 "Thunderbird Special" engine (312 ci and 345 bhp), and a "Ford-o-Matic" automatic gearbox." The car has since covered only 5 miles and remains in attractive original condition inside and out, while its engine starts without difficulty. The roof mechanism will need to be checked, along with all the mechanical components on the car, to ensure that this incredible convertible - a symbol of the freedom and carefree life of the 1950s - can be enjoyed once again. Note to the buyers: We inform buyers that all the vehicles in the collection have been rarely used during the last years as they are part of a museum collection. They are sold as presented and therefore require at the minimum recommissioning before being driven on the public roads. © Peter Singhof
