1958 Alfa Romeo Giulietta Spider Lot Number 135 Registration 564ETR Chassis Number 149503466 Engine Number 1315-43225 Odometer reading 88,000 miles Estimate £55,000 - £65,000 Result Sold - £55,000 Print details Send this to a friend The Alfa Romeo Giulietta was introduced in 1954 in coupé form and was the first truly mass produced Alfa Romeo. It was also a return to elegance rather than the utilitarian looks of the earlier models. April 1955 saw the introduction of the Berlina (saloon) and later in the summer of that year, the beautiful and almost ageless Spider saw the light of day. All of the Giulietta models (750 series 1954 - 1959) were driven by the all alloy, twin overhead camshaft engine with gearing via a four-speed, all synchromesh gearbox. Importantly; the Giulietta is known for its reliability and durability with parts and services being readily available from many specialists throughout the UK and Europe. We are proud to offer today an outstanding example of a rare and early 750D model; a 1958 Alfa Romeo Giulietta Spider that was first registered on these shores on the 9th July 1963. This fine example has been the subject of significant expenditure in the last 12 months with over £15,000 spent. The car boasts its correct engine which has benefitted from an Ian Ellis rebuild, which is still being run in, and breathes through a Weber carburettor and a Veloce manifold. New paint, trim, instruments, windscreen, brakes and Pirelli tyres make this a highly desirable example. Supplied with its original owners manual, brochure, fob as well as a large history file showing the car back to bare metal, the owner informs us the chassis is superb and the chrome is in excellent order. With prices of the Giulietta models rising strongly in recent times, particularly the spider, this must be an opportunity to acquire a car that is ready to be enjoyed immediately and is an appreciating asset.
