1959 Austin Healey Sprite MK1 No reserve Titre de circulation allemand Châssis n° AN5L/8525 Moteur n° 12V/6717/L7688 - Provenant d'une collection bavaroise - Restauration totale en 2000 - Moteur 1275 et boite 5 - Archétype du roadster anglais - Sans réserve Produite de 1958 à 1961, l'Austin Healey Sprite Mark 1 fut affectueusement surnomée " Frogeye " en référence à ses phares qui évoquaient des yeux de grenouille. Archétype du roadster anglais, elle possédait une capote rudimentaire, des vitres amovibles et un coffre accessible par l'intérieur. Voiture vive au comportement très ludique, de nombreux exemplaires s'illustreront en compétition. L'exemplaire présenté a été acheté par notre collectionneur en 2001, alors que la voiture venait de bénéficier d'une restauration complète. La mécanique d'origine a laissé place au 1275 cm3 de versions ultérieures et une boite 5 vitesses a été adaptée pour améliorer le confort de conduite sur long trajet. La boîte de vitesses d'origine sera livrée avec la voiture. La carrosserie est saine, l'habitacle, tendu de simili noir, comporte toujours son volant d'origine et une instrumentation pour l'Europe continentale. Régulièrement utilisée et entretenue, cette ravissante Frogeye est fiable et bien conservée, elle possède toujours sa capote et les side-screen. Les pneumatiques de marque Continental sont très peu usés. Amélioré mécaniquement pour envisager de grands trajets dans de bonnes conditions, ce roadster garde son look inimitable et spartiate d'origine. Archetype of the English roadster, it features a rudimentary hood, removable windows and a boot accessible from the inside. Many of this lively car did well in competition too. The car on offer was purchased by our collector in 2001, just after a comprehensive restoration. The original mechanicals were replaced by the 1275cc of the later versions and a 5-speed gearbox was adapted to improve driving comfort over long journeys. The original gearbox will be delivered with the car. The body is sound, the interior, covered in black imitation leather, still has its original steering wheel and the instrumentation is calibrated for continental Europe. Regularly used and maintained, this beautiful Frogeye is reliable, well preserved, and it still has its hood and side-screens. The Continental tyres have seen very little use. Improved mechanically to make the best of long journeys, in comfortable condition, this roadster retains its inimitable and Spartan look of origin. Photos © Moritz Hoffmann
