This DB4 was delivered new via Brooklands Garage on 31st May 1961 to Brown & Aitken Ltd, of Pall Mall. The car's first owner was company executive, Robin Loudon Aitken (hence the registration letters) an Aston Martin enthusiast who enjoyed driving fast his DB4 up to Scotland for fishing. Servicing up to 1971 was carried out at the factory and subsequently by Aston Service Dorset. Robin Aitken owned the car until 1981 when it passed in his will to John Barrs, who sold it on in 1986. 'RLA 600' had a further five owners before being purchased by the current vendor. The previous owner - Robin Aitken's grand daughter - brought back into family ownership in February 2005. Previously - Jonathan Willis - had purchased the Aston at auction in August 1996, at which time the car had covered only 8,000 miles since a complete engine rebuild and front/rear suspension overhaul by marque specialists Pugsley & Lewis costing almost £9,000 (invoices on file). More recently 'RLA 600' has benefited from a major overhaul (gearbox, flywheel, clutch, suspension, brakes, steering, stainless-steel exhaust, etc) undertaken by Andy Chapman (in 2003) costing some £16,400 with subsequent general repair and servicing works carried out by R S Williams and Trinity Engineering (in 2005 and 2006 respectively) at a total cost of £12,000 (invoices on file). The current recorded mileage total amount to 113,145. Finished in its factory-correct livery of Snow Shadow Grey with red Connolly hide interior, the car is offered with current MoT/road fund licence and Swansea V5. The accompanying important history file contains extensive service history, invoices, ownership details and correspondence, old-style logbook, spare keys and a DB4 workshop manual. Highly original and exceptionally well documented 'RLA 600' represents a wonderful opportunity to acquire a well maintained DB4 with an i
