1961 JAGUAR E-TYPE 3.8 ROADSTER A SCRATCH BUILT CHILD'S ELECTRIC CAR This beautifully proportioned scratch-built electric car is constructed to half scale. It was built in 1996 and features steel panels around a monocoque body tub, a steel box-frame to the bulkhead and an opening bonnet. The attention to detail is quite outstanding with a dummy engine, opening doors and boot, wire wheels with pneumatic tyres, working lights and indicators, a removable wood-rimmed steering wheel and rack and pinion steering. It is finished in red with black interior upholstery and all the brightwork is chromium plated. It is powered by a 24 volt electric motor with variable forward and reverse speeds, operated via the accelerator pedal. Many hours of meticulous preparation and work were spent building this superb child's car and we recommend close inspection.
