French registration Chassis # 0617 Front engine No. AW 05100032 Back engine No. AW 05400238 - Comprehensive restoration with documentation - A car for the true enthusiast - Presentation faithful to the original Purchased in the early 1980s from the French government by a doctor who was also a Citroën collector, this car was bequeathed to his gardener when he died. The latter sold the car to the current owner in 2007, an avid 2CV owner who owns as many as 14 of them! The Sahara was one of his dreams and he embarked on an exemplary restoration process. He is selling it today because he is also passionate about railways and he has just begun restoring a 1904 steam locomotive. The car was in a decent state and thus the original chassis was retained. Completely stripped bare, the body was redone by a coachbuilder in a green "Embrun" (AC511) shade that was found inside. The owner himself did the complete reassembling, paying special attention to the respect of the original features. A comprehensive documentation folder with photos and invoices reflects the work done. From a mechanical standpoint, the rear engine is the correct one, and he found a front engine corresponding to the original type, so that the car is fitted with two AW engines, equipped as it should be, with a Solex F26 CBIN carburetor. Completed in April 2008, the car was able to attend the festivities in Ermenonville celebrating the 50th anniversary of the Sahara, and an article was written on the car in the magazine "2 CV et derives" number 11, from May-June 2012. Showing 64,952 km on the odo and in an impeccable condition, it is a very fine example of this legendary model.
