Beschreibung:

Conceived and developed as an open sportscar, the Jaguar E-Type debuted at the Geneva Salon in March 1961 in Coupé form. The car caused a sensation when it appeared - spontaneous applause breaking out at the unveiling - with instantly classic lines and a 150mph-plus top speed. This E-Type Jaguar carries a chassis number that bears no relation to any given by Jaguar to an E-Type manufactured by them. However, the registration document clearly shows this vehicle to be a Jaguar E-Type registered 07.06.1982 but declares it to have been manufactured in 1963. Therefore it can only be considered that this vehicle has been made up from, or using parts from, other similar vehicles. ‘BMX 440A’ has enjoyed one notable owner (recorded on the accompanying Swansea V5) in the last 13 years, an ownership synonymous with Jaguar saloon car racing in the 1950s. There are the MoTs dating back to 1983, with three exceptions, and bills from renowned Jaguar specialists Southern Classics for restoration from 1984, and from Roadium for an engine and transmission rebuild from 1985. Other service work is also in evidence. A DVLA enquiry is also available recording the ownership since 1982 when the vehicle was registered by way of a V55/5. There is, however, no other evidential history from before 1982. ‘BMX 440A’ is reported to drive well, the engine being keen, although the gearbox is typically notchy. The coachwork shows some micro blistering, but is generally in sound order. The interior is in excellent condition and, in keeping with the body configuration, suggests the style to be that of an early ‘flat floor’ model. Finished in black with red leather interior, the car is offered with current road fund licence and MoT to April 2006.
