Présenté simultanément à la nouvelle Giulia TI, il reprend le même moteur quatre cylindres de 1 570 cm3 développant 92 cv, lui permettant d'atteindre les 172 km/h et de gagner en souplesse et fiabilité par rapport à sa devancière. Délivré neuf en France ainsi qu'en atteste sa plaque constructeur, notre Giulia Spider 1600 a été mis en circulation le 30 novembre 1964. Entre les mains d'un propriétaire parisien de 1983 à 1988, le véhicule est acquis par son propriétaire actuel lors d'une vente aux enchères en octobre 1988. En 30 ans il parcourt un peu plus de 40 000 km à son volant en l'utilisant régulièrement, comme en témoigne le dossier de factures. La voiture affichait ainsi 90 886 km lors de notre essai, correspondants très vraisemblablement à son kilométrage d'origine. Soucieux du bon fonctionnement de son véhicule, le propriétaire a fait procéder à la réfection de la mécanique en 1997 chez l'excellent spécialiste Tecnica. Lequel a aussi refait la boite de vitesses et changé l'embrayage en 2001. Attaché également à son aspect esthétique, il a fait repeindre la voiture, changer la capote et remplacer les garnitures intérieures en 1998. Roulant alors principalement à Deauville, puis dans le sud de la France ces dernières années, à son retour en région parisienne en novembre 2018, l'auto a bénéficié d'un contrôle général chez Tecnica. Sans être parfaite mais jouissant d'une agréable patine, cette belle Giulia Spider, séduira donc les amateurs avertis.
