Beschreibung:

Purchased by the present private owner in 1977, this Aston Martin DB5 was serviced by specialists R S Williams initially and then Ian Mason. The vehicle was used on the road until 1993 when its restoration commenced. The car was completely stripped by F C Eason & Sons and the body, which is now painted white and mounted on a rolling frame, has been restored by Ron Beasley. We understand that the chassis too has been renovated. Rebuilt by John Goldsmith, of Goldsmith & Young, the engine has been enlarged to 4,210cc using Cosworth pistons and converted to accept unleaded fuel. Financial upheaval and a fire at the premises of one of the companies involved has led to a number of components being lost; while the length of time since the engine was rebuilt means that its condition cannot be guaranteed. Thus this lot consists of a chassis, body, engine, clutch, gearbox, rear axle, carburettors (stripped), wheels and sundry other parts. Major items known to be missing include the dashboard, interior trim, wiring loom, front suspension, steering column, radiator, bumpers and window glass, as well as a numerous minor fittings. Prospective purchasers are strongly advised to ascertain the extent of missing components before undertaking this most challenging, yet potentially worthwhile, unfinished project, which is sold strictly as viewed. The vehicle is offered with sundry restoration invoices and Swansea V5 registration document, and is expected to possess a new chassis plate by time of sale.
