The Ford Mustang is an American automobile, originally based on the Ford Falcon compact. The first production Mustang rolled off the assembly line in Dearborn, Michigan on March 9, 1964, and was introduced to the public at the New York World's Fair on April 17, 1964. It was, and remains one of the most successful product launches in automotive history. The Mustang sold over one million units in its first 18 months on the market, and its legend lives on with revised models still in production today after 43 years. Ford added a Fastback to its 1965 Mustang lineup, but the Coupe continued to be the best seller of the group. The Coupe outsold the Convertible and Fastback individually five to one, accounting for nearly 75 percent of total sales and cementing longstanding popularity. The tricky part now for Mustang enthusiasts is not finding cars, but finding cars in first-rate and usable condition which this example is. The vendor of this car, who has owned her since 1992, has recently undertaken some restoration work to the car, with the intention of many more years use. Poor health is forcing a reluctant sale, and as such the new owner will get to enjoy the freshly bare metal re-sprayed bodywork, beautifully re-trimmed interior and refreshed 8 cylinder, 4700cc engine. This car boasts amendments such as disc brakes and power steering to improve the drivability of the vehicle, yet to the naked eye retains beautiful original features such as the re-furbished instrument panel, original sound system and period wheel hubs. TEU 173C represents a sound investment for someone who wishes to experience that American Muscle Car feeling without having to spend all their children's' inheritance. This car provides a smooth and accurate drive, not too aggressive, not too passive, and as welcome at the Ace Café as it is at your local supermarket. Included with this Lot is V5C registration certificate, current MoT test certificate, receipts for recent cosmetic and mechanical works and, subject to insurance, could be driven away from the auction by the successful bidder.
