Au Salon de Genève 1962 le public découvre la 300 SE dotée d'un 6 cylindres 3 litres digne de son standing, complété par une suspension intégralement pneumatique et une finition encore plus soignée. En version cabriolet, sa production se limite à 708 exemplaires, ce qui en fait un modèle rare. Cette 300 SE Cabriolet a été livrée neuve le 27 mars 1963 et immatriculée le 5 avril 1963 sous le n°847 HQ 34 par le premier propriétaire, Monsieur René Archimbeau (ostréiculteur) à Bouzigues dans l'Hérault. Il la gardera jusqu'2004, date à laquelle il la vend au propriétaire actuel, un grand collectionneur de Bentley et autres automobiles d'exception de la région normande, à travers une Maison française de ventes aux enchères. La voiture était alors entièrement d'origine, un peu fatiguée. Le propriétaire décide d'entreprendre une large restauration de la sellerie et de la capote (qui étaient irrécupérables et vraiment trop abîmées) chez les excellents professionnels Caribex à La Garenne Colombes ainsi qu'une peinture complète avec traitement des surfaces. La mécanique, quant à elle, a été revue par le mécanicien personnel de notre collectionneur. Elle sera accompagnée de son carnet d'entretien d'origine, son manuel et de la copie de la carte grise originale du premier propriétaire. La voiture se trouve aujourd'hui dans un superbe état à tous points de vue. Elle roule de manière fiable et optimale, dans un confort absolu, à la hauteur de l'excellence de la marque. At the Geneva Motor Show in 1962 the public discovered for the first time the 300 SE with a 3-liter 6-cylinder engine, worthy of its standing, complemented by full air suspension and an even neater finish. In convertible version, its production was limited to just 708 units, making it a very rare model. This 300 SE Cabriolet was delivered new on March 27, 1963 and was registered by the first owner, René Archimbeau (oyster aquaculturists), in Bouzigues in the Hérault region of France, on April 5, 1963 as 847 HQ 34. He kept the car until 2004, and then sold it to the current owner, an important collector of Bentleys and other exceptional cars, from the Normandy region, through a French auction house. The car was in an entirely original state, though a little tired looking. The owner decided to undertake a range of detailed restorations of the upholstery and the hood (which were unrecoverable and really too damaged), done by the excellent workshop Caribex from La Garenne Colombes, plus a complete repaint with surface treatment. The mechanical part was overhauled by the collector's own mechanic. The car comes with its original service book, its manual and a copy of the registration document of the first owner. The car is now in a superb condition from all points of view. It drives reliably and beautifully, in absolute comfort, exemplifying the excellent values of the brand. Additionally, with its special history, the car represents a wonderful opportunity for any collector to have a really fine example of an elegant 60s convertible.
