Left hand drive. Alfa Romeo have long been a leading name in motor car manufacture and in typical Italian style they evoke tremendous affection and enthusiasm as a driver's car. Their renown is based upon the competition success they enjoyed on both the road and track. The pretty two seat Spider was unveiled at the Geneva Motor Show in March 1966, quickly assuming the name Duetto in accord with the boattail styling of the rear end of the car. This was perhaps everybody's idea of driving an Alfa Romeo - neat styling, free revving engine, open top motoring with practical boot space for luggage and crisp handling when at the wheel. Of note, it was a Duetto that Dustin Hoffman drove in the 1967 classic, The Graduate . As a testament to its three previous, sympathetic owners, this lovely little Alfa is in unrestored condition, clearly having been treated to good maintenance. Presentation is sound and the car is best described as an ideal driver. Recent mechanical work includes a gearbox rebuild, new clutch and brake system rebuild.
