The 'big' Austin-Healey was a most influential car whose looks have never been surpassed. Two were bought by Nissan (Datsun) who used them as reference when developing the 240Z. BMW has been candid that the Big Healey inspired some of the styling of some of its own recent sports cars. The Big 'Healey was a good all-round competition car, but an outstanding rally car in a period more diverse than rallying has become. There were several outright wins in such as the Alpine and Liège-Rome-Liège Rallies, where endurance combined with speed was of the essence, and countless class wins in rallies of all types. The Italian registered example we offer is ASI homologated so an Italian purchaser would have no shortage of opportunities to use it in home events should they choose. It is a left hand drive car, finished in red over cream, with black upholstery and chromed wire wheels and luggage rack. The odometer reads 57,055 kms, and the vendor describes its condition as 'very good' on every count, much money having been lavished on it. Ideal transport for the coming summer.
