Beschreibung:

Launched in March 1959, the Austin-Healey 3000 retained the muscular good looks of its 100/6 predecessor while providing a useful increase in performance thanks to a larger-capacity (2,912cc) C-Series engine. Otherwise, the car was much as before, though Girling front disc brakes were a welcome improvement. Introduced in 1961, the MkII in Convertible form brought improved practicality courtesy of a fixed foldaway hood and winding windows. The 3000 MkIII with 148bhp engine appeared early in 1964, to be followed later in the year by the Phase II version with revised and much improved rear suspension. Top speed was now 121mph and the 0-60mph time dipped below 10 seconds. Despite, or perhaps because of, the antiquity of the basic design, the big Healey remained as popular as ever. This left-hand drive example underwent partial restoration over the period 1995-2000, having been imported into Europe from the USA around 12 years ago, and was acquired by the present owner in 2000. Repainted in 1998 and finished in black with matching interior, the car boasts a new dashboard and dash top, new chromed brightwork and new stainless-steel exhaust, and is described by the vendor as in good condition throughout. The car has the desirable manual/overdrive transmission and is offered with restoration invoices and Netherlands registration papers.
