1970 Mercedes-Benz 280 SL "California " N° de série : 11304412018051 - Automobile française d'origine - Très originale et saine - Véritable 4 places La 230 SL (S.L: Sport Leicht) présentée en mars 1963 a immédiatement été remarquée par son toit en forme de "Pagode". Elle succédait à la fois à la 190 SL et à la prestigieuse 300 SL. Née avec un moteur de 2,3L, elle reçoit un 2,5L en mars 1967, et enfin en 1968 le 2,8L. Dernière version de la série sportive des cabriolets à toit pagode, les 280 SL, ont connu la faveur des amateurs de voitures décapotables confortables rapides et élégantes. La vitesse de pointe était de 205 km/h. La voiture de la vente est une véritable " California " à quatre places d'origine française. Elle est équipée de son Hard Top de la même couleur que la carrosserie et d'un intérieur d'origine en Tex de couleur Havane. Les tapis ont été refaits. Elle totalise 122000 km compteur qui semble être d'origine. La boîte automatique a été révisée il y a 1600 km. L'entretien est assuré à " l'atelier SL " à Nanterre où elle a fait l'objet d'un examen approfondi, révélant une voiture très saine en carrosserie. Le moteur et la boîte de vitesses automatique sont souples et onctueux à l'usage. Elle est assortie d'une radio CD Kenwood. Carte grise française. - Of French provenance - Very original and mechanically very sound - A veritable four-seater The 230 SL (SL standing for Sport Leicht, the German for lightweight sports) was launched in March 1963 and caught the fancy of car enthusiasts all over thanks to the very distinctive 'pagoda-shaped' removal hardtop. It succeeded both the affordable 190 SL and Mercedes' very expensive flagship, the 300 SL. Initially on sale with a 2.3-litre engine, the car got a power upgrade with a 2.5-litre engine in March 1967, and that, in turn, was replaced by a 2.8 in 1968. The final iteration of these pagoda-roofed convertibles, the 280 SL - with its 205kph (128mph) max speed - remains a favourite with connoisseurs of fast, comfortable and stylish convertibles. The car on sale is a real "California", in being a certified four-seater of French origin. The car comes with the original hardtop, which is in the same colour as that of the body, along with original Tex tan interiors. The carpets have been redone though. The odometer reading of 122,000km (76,000 miles) seems to be original. The automatic transmission was overhauled 1,600km (a thousand miles) ago. The car has been maintained at the 'SL workshop' in Nanterre where the Mercedes was the subject of a thorough scrutiny, confirming that the body is in a good state.
