Italian title Frame number: 40FB - No reserve Following on from the legendary Falcone whose production stopped in 1967, the Moto Guzzi Nuovo Falcone was launched in 1969, in a military version. The distinctive horizontal single cylinder retained the ribs of the older version but received an aluminum cylinder head and cylinder (the latter was cast iron lined). Powered by a Dell'Orto VHB29A carburetor, this engine developed a refined power of 26bhp at 4800 rpm. The Nuovo Falcone had an electric start, by Dynastart, and a 12V electrical installation. This simple machine reached a top speed of 127 km/h, held the road well and braked decently well too. With production of 13,400 for the Italian army and administrations, the Nuovo Falcone was available in various civilian versions, including the one very adventurous "Sahara," until 1976.
