Fully restored example Considered to be a British icon, one of the most influential cars of the 20th century and loved by almost every car enthusiast the Mini, designed by Sir Alec Issigonis and can be found in many variants. Made by the British Motor Corporation (BMC) and its successors from 1959 until 2000, Austin, Morris and Rover all have models which captured the imagination with Cooper, Cooper S and 1275 GT to mention a few. It has, however, always been the original, perhaps standard Mini that enjoyed most success with the British public; small, economical and hugely practical thanks to its space saving front wheel drive layout, allowing 80% of the area of the car's floorpan to be used for passengers and luggage. The Mini Mk.I had three major UK updates; the Mk.II, the Clubman and the Mk.III. The most obvious changes were larger doors with concealed hinges and customer demand led to the sliding windows being replaced with wind-up windows. The suspension also reverted from Hydrolastic to rubber cones as a cost saving measure. This delightful and fully restored Morris Mini 850 is a rare automatic example. Presented in Teal Blue with a Snowberry White roof and retrimmed interior, this example boasts an upgraded period radio. Described by the vendor as a full nut and bolt restored example, he purchased the car from a Mr. Frame a friend who had, in his spare time, restored the car. Receipts for parts and the full respray can be found in the history file accompanied by a British Mini Club valuation certificate dated 6th April 2017 with a value of £7500, original service book, handbooks and 23 MoT test certificates. Since our vendor has owned the car he tells us he has used it every day for the past year but as he now needs to do longer journeys he has to let the delightful Mini find a new home. Offered with an MoT test certificate until February 2019 this is an ideal opportunity to own a fabulous British motoring icon.
