Although the Triumph Dolomite range, introduced in 1972, had proved to be refined and sporty, competitors such as BMW's 2002 had a performance advantage which was costing Triumph dearly, both in terms of sales and prestige To remedy this, they unveiled the Dolomite Sprint in June 1973 powered by a 1,998cc, 16-valve, SOHC, four-cylinder producing 127bhp and enabling 119mph and 8.4 seconds to 60mph This charismatic 'Dolly Sprint' was extensively restored and painted in 2010 with full details and a photographic record in the file Acquired by our vendor around five years ago and brought back to its best with sensitive recommissioning.
