L'exemplaire que nous présentons l'est d'autant plus qu'il dispose d'un historique connu : vendu neuf en Allemagne le 7 juillet 1980 dans sa livrée gris métal avec intérieur cuir rouge, il sera cédé aux enchères sous le marteau de Maître Poulain en avril 1990 et adjugé à la SNC Empain-Graham du baron Empain. Il change ensuite de mains en 1994 avant d'être acheté l'année suivante par son actuel propriétaire. Affichant aujourd'hui moins de 87000 km, cette 400i arbore toujours ses coloris d'origine, la peinture a été refaite dans les années 80 et l'intérieur en cuir est d'origine et patiné. En 2011, la voiture a bénéficié d'une importante révision avec remplacement des amortisseurs avant, des rotules et silentblocs. Le moteur a été déposé, la chaine de distribution et tous les joints remplacés. Pompe à eau et embrayage ont été changés, l'allumage et le radiateur refaits. La facture totalise plus de 20 000€. En 2012, le système de freinage a été remis en état, les amortisseurs arrière et les pneus Michelin remplacés. The model we are presenting is all the more attractive as it has a known history: sold new in Germany on 7 July 1980 in its grey metallic finish with a red leather interior, it was sold at auction by Maître Poulain in April 1990 to Baron Empain's Empain-Graham company. It then changed hands in 1994, before being purchased the following year by its current owner. With less than 87,000km recorded today, the 400i is still finished in its original colour; it was repainted during the 1980s and the leather interior is original and patinated. In 2011, the car underwent a major service, when the front shock absorbers, ball joints and rubber bushings were replaced. The engine was removed and the timing chain and all the gaskets were replaced. The water pump and clutch were changed and the ignition system and radiator overhauled. The total bill came to more than 20,000 €. In 2012, the braking system was reconditioned, while the rear shock absorbers and Michelin tyres were replaced. Supplied with its toolkit and owner's manual, this 400i represents an unusual opportunity to acquire a car which is of growing interest to collectors.
