La ligne sobre et sportive de la DMC 12 est signée Giugiaro et la carrosserie en inox montée autour d'un châssis-poutre présente une indéniable originalité. L'accès à l'habitacle se fait par des portes papillon du meilleur effet et le moteur, placé à l'arrière, est un V6 PRV 2,9 litres dont les 137 ch emmène la belle à 200 km/h.
