Mercedes-Benz introduced the W123 four-door versions in January, 1976. While there were some technical similarities to their predecessors, the new models were larger in wheelbase and exterior dimensions. The 280CE models were produced from 1977-1985 and the car offered here wwas one of the later ones produced having been first registered two months after the official end of production in August 1985. Even by today's standards, this car provides comfort, class and capable precision driving from the surprisingly spritely automatic gearbox that propels the car forwards. Admittedly the paintwork on the roof and the bonnet has suffered some sun bleaching; however this does little to detract from the road presence delivered by these robust pillarless coupes. The leather work in this car is in first class condition, and this particular example boasts recent receipts for nearly £2,500 worth of service work from renowned marque expert Roger Edwards in Amersham, Buckinghamshire. These works included annual service, new radiator, HT leads, refit dashboard wood, replacement of starter motor, and to clean and waxoyl the underside of vehicle - all of this shows the fastidious care that the vendor has lavished on this car. A reluctant sale, and offered with impressive history file, C677 CAP is a wonderful drivers car and is offered here at no reserve.
