This Mercedes-Benz 300 CE comes with a somewhat interesting history. It has been in the same family ownership from new; the first registered owner being Blakes Hotel, a boutique hotel in Knightsbridge, London whose famous clients included Ali MacGraw, Robert Redford, Neil Diamond, Bob Dylan and Jane Russell. Blakes was created, and still owned, by Anouska Hempel (now Lady Weinberg); the television and film actress turned hotelier and interior designer who appeared in the James Bond film 'On Her Majesty's Secret Service', amongst many others. The car was then registered in Lady Weinberg's son's name for a period between 2007 and 2012 before being registered once again in Lady Weinberg's name. This car has the usual Mercedes-Benz 300 CE extras including electric windows, sunroof, headlamp wash wipe and steering column adjustment that all appear to be in working order at the time of inspection. The automatic gearbox sports economy and sports settings as well as cruise control for relaxed motorway cruising. A full set of alloy wheels, (including the spare) adorn the car externally. To the interior the car is trimmed with black leather seats, the front ones being electronically operated. The first aid kit still resides within the compartment on the back shelf. A document wallet contains the relevant manuals and service book which is stamped up until 85,643 miles. The most recent record of works carried out in 2012 included a replacement engine, engine mountings, exhaust, brake pipes, oil and filter; full details can be found within the history file. This Mercedes-Benz is currently on SORN and is without an MoT test certificate; however, it does have a new battery and the engine does start and run. We advise that it may need some light re-commissioning, but being offered at 'No Reserve' makes it possibly a very inexpensive way into Mercedes ownership.
