1995 BMW 840Ci Lot Number104 RegistrationUEZ 1840 Chassis NumberWBAEF62010CB97828 Engine Number51011075 Odometer reading101,801 miles Estimate£8,000 - £12,000 ResultSold - £10,080 Print details Send this to a friend Well maintained example Comprehensive history file This car can be viewed in person from 14th to 18th July 2020 at our the auction site, Windsorview Lakes, Datchet, SL3 9HY When launched in 1989 at the Frankfurt Motor Show, the BMW 8 Series felt like a glimpse into the future with its angular styling. An upmarket range with superior performance and price tag to match, the 8 Series was designed to be a standalone premium model although seen to be the successor to the 6 Series. Fitted with a four litre, V8 engine mated to either a five-speed automatic or a six-speed manual transmission, it was capable of producing a very healthy 282bhp, this version could achieve the 0-62mph sprint in an impressive 6.9 seconds; importantly with the naturally aspirated V8, acceleration was effortless and refined. Over $1 billion dollars are said to have been spent on the car's design with CAD design and wind tunnel technology. From mid-1995, production phased in the newer 4.4 litre M62B44 engine, which had better fuel economy and more torque, though power output remained unchanged. This 1995 BMW 840ci, presented in metallic red over a black leather interior, shows a modest 101,801 miles on the odometer and is offered in very good order throughout. The paintwork and interior show little sign of age and the engine pulls well. The history file that accompanies the car includes many of the old MoT test certificates, the original sales pack with owner’s manual, many sundry invoices and the current V5 registration document. BMW 8 Series are certainly becoming an appreciated modern classic and this example is no exception. Ready to be driven and enjoyed by its new owner. The health and safety of both our customers and team remains the utmost priority, we are therefore operating to Government guidelines throughout viewing and auction day.
