It was designed by Herbert Schäfer and was manufactured from September 1988. Originally conceived as a possible successor to the Porsche 944, the Corrado has 2+2 seating layout with the car's floorpan based on the A2 platform. The Corrado is recognisable by its wedge profile, flush mounted windows and active rear spoiler that rises automatically when the car exceeds 50mph and automatically retracts at speeds below 15mph, it can be manually controlled from a switch in the cockpit. All Corrados were front-wheel drive and featured various petrol engines variants. Auto Express magazine describe it as ‘as one of VW’s best-ever drivers’ cars. This delightful Corrado VR6 was originally registered on 6th March 1995 and has only had two former keepers; the current registered keeper acquired M46 VYA on 6th February 2002. The Blackberry paintwork is in excellent order as is the cloth interior. The engine burst into life immediately when requested and ran with no adverse noises; clearly this has been a car that has been very well cared for and we are advised she drives with no known faults. Supplied with a V5C registration document and a full years MoT test certificate, together with a substantial history folder, Volkswagen Corrado VR6 are fast becoming recognised for the outstanding vehicle that they are. Quick, comfortable and with great road holding.
