Description The Pininfarina designed original 456 was available in GT and GTA forms. The difference in name signifies the transmission: the former has a six-speed manual and the latter a automatic developed in partnership with FF Developments, in Livonia, MI (which was later purchased by Ricardo Engineering in the UK). This was only the fourth automatic transmission ever offered by Ferrari. The 5.5 L (5474 cc) 65° V12 engine was derived from the Dino V6 rather than the more conventional 60° V12s used in the 412. It produced 436 hp with 4 valves per cylinder and Bosch Motronic 2.7 engine management. It could push the 1690 kg car and four passengers to 188 mph making it the world’s fastest production four-seater. At the time of its development it was the most powerful road car ever developed by Ferrari (aside from the F40). According to the Certificate of Conformity (the “birth certificate”) essential should the car be exported, the car was completed on the 21st September 1998. Finished in blue Tour de France 522 with beige hide 4208 and dark blue carpets 168, this 456 represents one of approximately five finished in this shade of blue. Delivered to Ferrari UK in Egham, Surrey and then on to the then Ferrari agents, Stratstone of Wilmslow,Cheshire. First registered S476 SNF to Mr John Hargreaves of Lancashire, on the 30th October 1998. The then list price (1st April 1998) £173,588.63 plus delivery and number plates. Having been owned by Mr Hargreaves for just less than 18 months, and with less than 6,000 miles covered, it was purchased by the second keeper, Mr Colin Paterson, from the well known specialist dealer, William Loughran of Preston, Lancashire. It was registered to his company in Scotland, on the 17th January 2000, and re registered 97 KY. The then Scottish Ferrari agents , Glenvarigill, maintaining the car during Mr Paterson’s ownership. Three and half years later, the third and penultimate owner, Mr Phillip Dunmore of Suffolk, became the next registered owner, on the 26th August 2003, with some 40,000 miles recorded. The last owner, from Sussex, bought the car from a specialist dealer, on the 4th October 2010 with 50,000 miles for £39,500.To facilitate a personal number transfer the car was re-registered to my company. Last serviced on the 15/ 01/2014 by SMDG at 59,812 miles, chassis 3510 is offered with a very well stamped original service book. It comes complete with hand books, wallet, Certificate of Conformity, past invoices and MOT certificates. Offered at No Reserve.
