19TH CENTURY ENGLISH BONE CHINA VEILLEUSE & PAIR OF ROCOCO VASES, possibly Minton, teapot painted in gilt with rococo scroll designs on a green ground, upon a castellated funnel painted with a continuous rural scene depicting a gypsy encampment beside a gnarled tree and stone bridge with donkey and rider, river valley in the distance, on circular base containing a pastille bowl, gilt rims, 21.5cms high, vases of rococo form with quatrefoil foliate rims, twin loop handles, painted with exotic birds on branches and butterflies bordered with encrusted flowers, gilt highlights, 22.5cms high (3) Provenance: vases - Herbert M. Vaughan MA FSA JP, Plas Llangoedmor, Cardigan, High Sheriff of Cardiganshire Auctioneer's Note: vase with hand-written notes associating them with H M Herbert, and referring to them as 'Worcester' Condition: vases - one with restuck rim and hairline crack to one handle, both with chips to the encrusted flowers; teapot - regilded chip to spout.
