Registration: Y294 TNC Chassis Number: ZFFZR520000124178 Engine Number: 62513 Number of cylinders: 12 CC: 5474 Year of Manufacture: 2001 RHD/LHD: Right Hand Drive
A celebration of Ferrari and Pininfarina's long-term collaboration One of only 42, UK-supplied, right-hand drive Barchettas. Only 3,022 miles from new and absolutely immaculate 5474cc V12, dohc per bank, Bosch Motronic M5.2 fuel injection. 6-speed manual, transaxle 485bhp@7000rpm /419lb ft@5000rpm /199mph / 0-60 in 4.2sec Impeccable history. All of its original equipment including the helmets Life is for living, and this is the way to do it The natural successor to the immortal Ferrari Daytona Spyder, the 550 Barchetta, was greeted by rapturous applause when it was unveiled at the Paris Motor Show in 2000. Having decided to celebrate the 70th anniversary of Pininfarina, the 50th.Anniversary of the companies joint collaboration, and their recent success in Formula 1, Ferrari asked Sergio Pininfarina to present a design that would capture the spirit of the classic road racers of the past and the essence of their previous 50 years working together. Pininfarina based the new car on a current production model, the 550 Maranello, and although it was almost an 'ego project' with limited production expected, the 550 Barchetta Pininfarina arrived and surpassed all expectations. With a screen line 100mm lower than the coupé, and a silhouette that was functional and unadorned, the Barchetta looked distinctive and purposeful. Aimed squarely at those who embraced the concept of the 60's road racers but appreciated the practicality of a modern Ferrari and enjoyed the freedom of open-air motoring coupled with a soundtrack that is almost addictive, the Barchetta was well received by those with Ferrari in their DNA. Offered here is number 200/448 of the Ferrari 550 Barchetta Pininfarina production run and is probably the lowest mileage example available with just 3,022 miles recorded. It's finished in the classic colour combination of Rosso Corsa with a grey/black interior and remains in stunning condition, commensurate with the very low mileage. It is one of only 42 right-hand drive cars built and was supplied new to the U.K. through Ferrari main dealer Stratstone of Wilmslow. From new, it was specified with carbon racing seats (standard in all Barchettas), a carbon steering wheel, carbon dash inserts and split rim wheels. It comes with its original Schedoni Modena book pack and wallet with the correct Ferrari torch, spare keys including the red master fob, toolkit, weather protection in its bag, the original sales brochure, and last but not least the legendary red and tan 'Barchetta' helmets in their bespoke bags and all in immaculate condition. There were four former keepers prior to our vendor and the service record is absolutely complete together with every MOT from 2004 reading 785 miles through to August 2017 with 3,015 miles corroborating the incredibly low mileage. 16/01/04 Service and belts @ 330 miles Main Dealer 30/10/05 Service @ 899 miles Main Dealer 07/12/06 Service @ 1134 miles Specialist 24/04/07 Service and belts @ 1140 miles Specialist 31/07/08 Service @ 1314 miles Specialist 03/11/10 Service and belts @ 2300 miles Main Dealer 03/11/11 Service @ 2496 miles Main Dealer 18/03/13 Service and Tubi exhaust @ 2629 miles Main Dealer 25/03/14 Service @ 2931 miles Main Dealer 21/09/15 Service and belts @ 3010 miles Main Dealer 28/08/16 Service @ 3010 miles Main Dealer 31/08/17 Service @ 3015 miles Main Dealer Already assured of true classic status, this special V12, 485bhp Ferrari will, in our opinion, become a benchmark and a wonderful investment and, if future values are a consideration, at this guide price its only competition would be a one bedroomed flat in Brent Cross, and we think we know which option might be more fun. However, we imagine that this car's new owner will want to appreciate the evocative driving characteristics of this amazing, powerful, open-top, V12 Barchetta Pininfarina, and with the wind in your hair and the howl from the Tubi exhaust echoing around the tall buildings, it wouldn't be hard to narrow your eyes
