Upgraded to Clubsport Specification Genuine right hand drive example 911 GT3 Following the launch of the 911/996, Porsche launched the GT3, the first 996 variant intended for the racetrack. Its 3.6 litre engine was derived from the GT1 and delivered 360 horsepower at 7,200 rpm, offering 60 additional horsepower over the base 3.4 litre motor in the standard Carrera. It was also fitted with adjustable suspension and a unique body kit, including a dual-plane rear wing. The interior featured sports seats, whilst some of interior trim was deleted to keep weight down. Porsche also built a track only version of the GT3, dubbed the GT3 Clubsport. Only a handful of differences can be noted in comparison to the GT3, including the fitment of a full roll cage and a Nomex covered driver’s seat with side airbags omitted. Whilst not generally intended for daily driving, this edition was track-ready in every aspect and able to compete in a number of racing series worldwide. This generation II 911 GT3 is offered in desirable Atlas Grey with black interior and has the full Clubsport specification upgrade which includes roll cage, uprated suspension, six-pot front brakes and Clubsport seats with red seatbelts, in addition to this the car still boasts air conditioning and full leather crested interior. Having covered just 40,600 miles from new this stunning example has been well maintained, the service booklet shows regular service intervals have been adhered to with five main dealer stamps from 2004 to 2011 and a four further stamps from specialists, the most recent undertaken by Renaissance Classic Cars in April 2018. The current vendor acquired the car in 2013 and offers this collectable GT3 with a complete book pack and recent MoT test certificate. These cars are fabulous to drive but also hugely collectable, the key for any new owner is resisting the lure of driving this car too frequently given its potential for investment.
