4.0-Liter DOHC Bi-Turbo V8 Engine Electronic Fuel Injection 577bhp at 6,250rpm 7-Speed AMG Speedshift DCT Transaxle 4-Wheel Independent Suspension 4-Wheel Carbon Ceramic Disc Brakes *Largely showroom-fresh condition with less than 1,500 miles from new *Owned and cherished by a renowned SoCal collector from new *Equipped from factory with every available option, adding more than $30,000 to the $197,215.00 sticker price *Largely hand-built by the skilled engineers at Fellbach Mercedes-AMG THE MERCEDES-AMG GT R "Launched in 2014, the original Mercedes-AMG GT brought together dynamic motorsport performance with a breathtaking sports car look. With the new AMG GT and the limited-edition AMG GT R, we've further honed these qualities to create an even more agile and exhilarating driving experience. In fact, in terms of design and engineering, no other production Mercedes-AMG model is as close to motor racing as the new AMG GT R." – Mercedes-Benz. Unveiled at the Paris Motor Show in October 2014, the Mercedes-AMG GT Coupe was only the second model, after the SLS, designed entirely in-house by AMG. In appearance the GT looks similar to the SLS, both cars being the creation of lead designer Mark Fetherstone, but has conventional doors rather than its predecessor's gullwing type, thereby lowering the center of gravity. Boasting a spaceframe chassis/body of mainly aluminum construction, the GT in its 'entry level' form is powered by a 4.0-litre twin-turbocharged V8 engine producing 469bhp, while the AMG Speedshift seven-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission is similarly state-of-the-art. The engine is set well back in the frame and the transmission is housed in a rear transaxle, helping to keep the weight distribution at what Mercedes calls an optimum 47/53 percent front-rear split. Introduced at the same time as the GT was the higher performance GT S, and later in the year a GT3 competition version was announced. Premiered in 2016 for the 2017 model-year were three new variants: the GT Roadster, GT C Coupe and Roadster, and the high-performance GT R Coupe. For the GT R, the M178 engine was tuned to produce 577bhp, an output good enough for a claimed top speed of 319km/h. While the GT R retains the key mechanical enhancements the GT C gains over the GT S, it also incorporates manually adjustable suspension (in conjunction with the base models' AMG Ride Control); an active under-body fairing; a manually adjustable rear wing; and nine-mode traction control. At the same time various features deemed superfluous in a high-performance variant were deleted. Externally, the GT R when launched was distinguished by several cosmetic changes that included vertical slats in the front grille, new front air intakes, and new front and rear diffusers, the overall effect making it look more like the GT3 racer. The GT R went on sale in November 2016, with deliveries beginning in 2017, and was adopted as the official safety car for the 2018 Formula 1 World Championship. THE MOTORCAR OFFERED Completed by the skilled engineers at the Fellbach-based Mercedes-AMG Works in November of 2017, this largely hand-built high-performance Coupe was destined new to the US market and has had just one devoted California owner since new. The new GT R was ordered with every available option totaling more than $30,000 in factory options, including AMG Exterior Carbon Fiber Package I and II, Exclusive Interior Package, Convenience Package and carbon ceramic brakes with massive orange-gold colored brake calibers. The exterior color chosen was the stealth looking Designo Selenite Grey Magno over a black interior neatly contrasted by yellow stitching and seat belts. The car was first registered in February of 2018, by its first and sole owner, a renowned Southern California based collector of excellent motorcars. Today this extremely powerful, limited-edition 2018 Mercedes-AMG GT R Coupe presents largely in factory fresh condition, and has covered less than 1,500 miles from new
