4.0-Liter DOHC Twin-Turbo V8 Engine Electronic Direct Fuel Injection 710hp at 7,000rpm 7-Speed Dual Clutch Transmission Independent Front and Rear Suspension 4-Wheel Carbon Ceramic Disc Brakes *Highly optioned, US-market example *Special-ordered in vibrant MSO Napier Green exterior color *Very well cared for example with less than 6,800 miles from new *Highly advanced and powerful Sports Coupe THE MCLAREN 720S Since the birth of McLaren automotive, the bedrock of the brand lay in their Super Series of cars beginning with the MP4-12C in 2009. Over the course of the next decade, the company continued to refine and update the platform culminating in the highly capable 650S. By 2017, it was time for a true overhaul, and so the 720S was unleashed onto the ever competitive scene of supercars. While the recipe looked familiar, a carbon tub and twin turbo V8, this was in fact a real clean sheet design. The Monocage II chassis offered increased stiffness all while shedding 40lbs and further allowed easier ingress and egress with larger doors. Under the hood, the ever present all aluminum V8 received an increase in displacement up to 4.0 liters via an increase in stroke and is now pushing out over 700hp as the name of the vehicle suggests. The boost is generated by a pair of advanced twin scroll turbos designed to deliver a broad performance window and immediate response. The 720S also bears the distinction of introducing McLarens current design language. Purpose in form is the primary goal of the car's shape, but efforts were made to not ruin the soft sweeping lines by interrupting them with inlets and ducts. Instead, a twin skin door allows air to flow into the structure and into the necessary cooling devices. A similar theme is found up front with the eye sockets holding the headlights but also serving to direct air out around the front tire. Long the bane of supercar owners, visibility is often a lackluster quality in these high-performance automobiles. McLaren took great effort to amend this issue, and thanks to the carbon construction, thin pillars hold the roof in place. This provides a near 360-degree greenhouse and will make it all the easier to see all of the cars that have been passed out the back window. THE MOTORCAR OFFERED A car that will certainly never be lost in a parking lot, the vibrant 2019 McLaren 720S offered here is the perfect car for someone who cares little about drawing attention to oneself. A whopping $12,000 option, this special ordered MSO (McLaren Special Operations) Napier Green exterior was previously a color made available on the limited production 675LT, and fits within the tradition of brightly colored mid-engined supercars. Delivered new to McLaren Scottsdale, this 720S features a number of additional comfort features that allow for easier daily use. This includes a vehicle lift for getting over speedbumps, and 360-degree parking cameras for slow speed maneuvering. For longer stints down the motorway, a 12 speaker Bowers & Wilkins audio system allows the driver to take a break from hearing the snarling V8 behind them. When one is in the mood to indulge in exploding hydrocarbons, the sports exhaust allows the motor to wail all the way up to redline. All four corners feature optional lightweight forged wheels as well. Since being delivered, just around 6,700 miles have been rolled onto the odometer. Aiding in the ever-important cause of preservation, the entire McLaren has received a film of Xpel paint protection and will do well to serve against chips and scuffs. Supplied with the car are the handbooks, both keys, a copy of the original window sticker, and maintenance records. Additionally, this McLaren sports a clean Carfax and Autocheck history reports. A collectible example of the mighty 720S, this Mclaren will certainly find a coveted spot in any collection.
