"... I have two Presses for stamping Notes which I have got made here for the use of the Public Bank which is about to be established at Munich...", sie sollen nach Hamburg, "... by the first safe conveyance in order to their being forwarded to Bavaria where they are much wanted...". Der Transport wird weiter organisiert, "... In order that Mr. Freeling may be assured that nothing improper will be sent in this Box, it shall, if he desires it be sent to the Post Office to be inspected ans sealed up before it goes from London. I will be answerable to him and to you that nothing shall be put into this Package except it be the two Presses above mentioned, and two dies which I have had made here by the Kings Die-sinker at the Tower for stamping the Bavarian Bank Notes, and two cutting-irons which I have had made by Palmer in St. James's Street, for cutting the ends of the notes...". 1799 bereitete Rumford mit Sir Joseph Banks die Gründung der Royal Institution, eines technisch-gewerblichen Lehrinstituts, vor, das im folgenden Jahr seine Arbeit aufnahm.
