As the most powerful GT-R to date, the R35 platform took the supercar world by shock. Having to surpass the popularity and success of their previous R32, R33 and R34 GT-R models, Nissan's engineers kicked into high gear and went to work to design and release a model that would be worthy of the GT-R moniker. Being the successor of the famous Skyline GT-R models, Nissan knew it had to come up with something special. With years of design and engineering, Nissan had released two concepts, the first in 2001 and the next in 2005. Finally, after years of research and testing, the R35 GT-R was released in Japan at the end of 2007, and later in the United States in 2008. The car was nothing short of an amazing feat of engineering. After such a long design and testing process, the figures spoke for themselves. The car was released as a front engine, all-wheel drive platform with rear mounted gearbox for optimum weight distribution. The body, although not sleek like most of its supercar competitors, was amongst the most slippery aerodynamic cars, thanks to so much research and development time in the wind tunnel. The VR38DETT twin-turbocharged engines are completely hand built at a special sector in Nissan's factory. Only a handful of Nissan craftsmen were deemed as capable of assembling the engines, each engine displaying a plaque with their name engraved. The engine has proven itself with both reliability as well as additional horsepower potential. The first examples produced 479 bhp while the later examples achieved over 565 bhp. The performance figures were impressive, with later examples achieving 0-60mph times of 2.7-3.2 seconds depending on the year and model. Early models of the R35 platform were capable of top speeds of 196mph, while later version of the car have clocked 204mph, placing the car in the same category as many supercars. Not only was this new GT-R variant fast in a straight line, but Nissan decided real world racetrack testing would also be able to prove the GT-R's prowess in the supercar world. Nissan went ahead and opened a facility next to the infamous Nurburgring Nordschleife racetrack to optimize its suspension research. Working closely with Nissan' test drivers, the GT-R impressed the car world with posting a 7:38 lap time in 2009, beating the venerable Porsche 997 Turbo by 1 second. Later that year, Nissan improved their time to a 7:26 lap time and finally in 2013, Nissan put their flagship GT-R Nismo model on the same course and achieved a 7:08 lap time, placing it as one of the fastest volume production cars to lap the course. These impressive feats helped the Nissan R35 GT-R cement itself on the lists of one of the greatest supercars to come from Japan. THE MOTORCAR OFFERED Delivered new in California in 2016, this Nissan GT-R has been enjoyed by only one owner since new. This Premium model GT-R is finished in Pearl White over a Black Leather interior featuring black/ dark grey Alcantara seat inserts. In addition, the exterior was complemented with a Martini Racing decal package being the only aftermarket item on the exterior. The engine and drivetrain have never been modified and comes exactly as it was when it left the Tochigi factory in Japan. The dark tinted wheels are mounted to Dunlop tires, while the copper/orange Brembo brake calipers handle the stopping power. This 2017 model is the first year of Nissan's latest facelift for the GT-R. This facelift includes a new aerodynamic package featuring redesig
