American, ca 1864. Pinkish-white stars are crudely painted onto both sides of the canton, all having their axis pointing downward, and configured in straight rows. The paint's carrying agent has left a residual halo around each star (more obvious from the faded reverse). The entire flag is machine-sewn cotton except for its hand-sewn canvas sleeve that has 5 attached rings. Nevada was admitted as the 36th state on October 31, 1864, 40 x 65 in. Condition: Good condition considering age, material, and usage. Windshear damage along fly end.
