44 stars are single-appliqued in a triple medallion configuration with corner stars all encircling a larger central star representing Wyoming which was admitted as the 44th State in 1890. The flag is entirely machine-sewn cotton and is one-sided, ca 1890, 45" x 58." Although double and triple medallion configurations were more commonly found during the period of 1850-1870, they are rarely found acknowledging Wyoming's statehood. Condition: Several holes, a tear near 1st star, and a small seam separation (12-13th stripes) along the hoist where it was tacked to a pole. Mellow oxidation to stars and white stripes. Minor staining.
