A 17TH CENTURY DIAMOND RELIQUARY CROSS PENDANT The square section cross with pierced scrolling frame, set with vari-sized table and rose-cut diamonds and traces of black and white enamel detailing, the reverse partly hinged, opening to reveal a compartment, the cover with black enamelled and engraved symbols relating to The Passion of Christ including a chalice, cockerel, sword and flagellum surrounding the monogram IHS referring to the Greek Iesus Hominum Salvator , Jesus saviour of mankind, suspending three scalloped pendent drops the obverse diamond-set, the reverse with painted monochrome enamel flowerhead design, circa 1650, 7.1cm long, the drops of a similar date but possibly associated
