Beschreibung:

A 1947 Scott Squirrel 600 motorcycle. Registration number: JGO 215. Engine number: DPY4926. Chassis number: 4829. The machine was purchased from Peter Smith an engineer with Crosthwaite and Gardener, who purchased the vehicle in 1960. It is understood that he installed the Benelli rear suspension which incidentially was brought back from Italy in a soldier's knapsack and owned the machine until purchased by the current owner in September 2000. Major works were carried out by Chris Odling who was also an engineer with Crosthwaite and Gardener. The engine was stripped and works carried out as per his invoice dated 4th September 2004 at a total cost of 3,254. AT this time the bike received an MoT dated 2nd September 2004 and had a recorded mileage of 14,824. The current mileage is under 15,000. The flying Squirrel is powered by 596cc version of the famous water cooled twin cylinder two strike and is fitted with a set of Dowty forks which is consistent with its declared year of manufactur. The machine is offered in good condition and is accompanied by a number of expired MoTs and original log book. The motor cycle is classed as a historic vehicle and therefore nil rate of vehicle tax and is currently taxed with MoT for the next 12 months. . Auction Details
