A 2ND LIFE GUARDS OFFICER'S DRESS SWORD, TWO CONTINENTAL MILITARY SWORDS, AND AN ENGLISH SWORD BELT THE FIRST BY PROSSER MANUFACTURER TO THE KING, CHARING CROSS, DATED 1832, THE REMAINDER 19TH CENTURY The first with hollow-ground blade double-edged towards the point and etched on each face of the forte with a crowned grenade, the monogram 'LG2', the maker's name, and the date, brass half-basket hilt comprising knuckle-guard widening into a hand-plate and with three diagonal scrolls on the outside, cast in relief with scrolls, grenades, and on the deep pommel with a winged thunderbolt, and spirally grooved shagreen-covered grip (damaged, wire binding missing); the second with curved fullered single-edged blade etched with scrolling foliage involving trophies, Mameluke hilt engraved with foliage including spatulate quillons, and ivory grip-scales pierced for a sword-knot and engraved with running foliage involving, birds, butterflies and cupids; the third with slender slightly curved single-edged blade etched on both sides with vines and a military trophy, brass strirrup hilt cast overall with foliage, lion's head pommel with red paste eyes, one langet applied with the Order of the Black Eagle of Prussia, the other engraved with a coat-of-arms, and wire-bound shagreen-covered grip, in original black painted iron scabbard; the last with nickel-plated mounts The first 40in.
