A Black Forest polychrome painted metal itinerant clock pedlar timepiece First half 19th century Of typical form, holding a walking stick, with hat and mock clock to his back, carrying a Black Forest wall clock on his front, its arch painted with a cottage and the spandrels with flowers, with white enamel Roman dial (some cracks) and blued steel hands, the single barrel movement with anchor escapement and silk suspension, on circular faux-painted wooden base 13¾in. (35cm.) high
