A BÖTTGER CHINOISERIE BALUSTER COFFEE-POT AND A COVER CIRCA 1723-25 Painted in Dresden by Lauche , each side with Orientals by rocky outcrops, one side with an Oriental attending to a smoking brazier, the other with two Orientals releasing a bird, within elongated shaped flattened quatrefoil gilt cartouches with Böttger -lustre panels and gilt scrolls issuing iron-red and pale-brown scrolls, flanked by sprays and bouquets of indianische Blumen around the spout and handle, the S-scroll handle with similar flowers, below a gilt Laub-und-Bandelwerk border, the domed cover with two Orientals on terraces about a gilt knop finial and within a gilt band rim (rim, tip of spout and interior flange of cover with restored rim chip, footrim restored, flaking to enamels, to green in particular, with small areas of overpainting to disguise it, slight wear to gilding and lustre) 7 7/8 in.
