A BOHEMIAN (CARLSBAD) FLINTLOCK HOLSTER PISTOL Early 18th Century With swamped blued barrel (some surface rust) incised with a gilt martial trophy at the muzzle and breech and a running design of gilt foliated scrollwork along the sighting flat, gilt touch-hole, brass sights, border engraved tang, flat gilt-brass lock with moulded border and engraved on the plate with female harvesters in a landscape, the cock engraved with foliated strapwork, moulded finely figured rootwood stock carved in relief with foliage at the barrel tang and rear ramrod-pipe (some bruising, fore-stock with cracks and old repairs), gilt-bronze mounts cast and chased with foliage and strapwork in relief on a granulated ground, pierced foliate side-plate involving marine monsters and a martial trophy, pierced escutcheon with coronet above, octagonal ramrod-pipes, horn fore-end cap, and associated brass-tipped ramrod (some wear to gilding, and to the finish on the barrel) 20½in. (52.1cm.)
