A BONE-HILTED DAGGER ( KARD ) SAFAVID IRAN, 17TH/EARLY 18TH CENTURY With a single-edged watered-steel blade narrowing to a point, with typical bifurcated hilt with bone panels attached to either side, the spine with nasta'liq inscriptions reserved against gold cusped cartouches, the chape with slightly raised cusped palmettes with gold overlaid calligraphic decoration with nasta'liq inscriptions reserved on gold ground and floral sprays, minor losses to the gold overlay 15½in. (39.4cm.) long
